The north square of big wild goose pagoda |
It is located at the root of the big wild goose pagoda, the width from east to west is 480 meters, and the length from south to north is 350 meters, covering an area of 252 acres. The big wild goose pagoda is an axes of the north square. In foreside of the north square, as a point of intersection, gate and pillars connect Yanta north road and square axes. Foreside of the square is made up of fountain, culture square, gardens, culture corridor and tourism and trade facilities. From south to north, there are 9 stages and the fall is 9 meters. From south to north, stepping along the stages, people will cultivate a feeling of pagoda worship. The whole architectural area is 110,000 square meters, and it has been built with a total investment of 500 million RMB.

Buddha Beacons and Tang Culture Pillars
|

As the entrance signs of the North Square , the two Buddha Beacons, 9 meters high each, echo with wild Goose Pagoda. The magnificent beacons with exaggerated shapes embody the Tang aesthetics spirits; its body displays Buddhist theme by using the forms of Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes. The eight Tang Culture Pillars, 6 meters high each, embody the Tang style by using lotus base, temple tower, lucky grain and so on, perfectly combining the Tang Culture with classic Buddhism poetry and Buddhism language

Sculptures of Great Characters in Tang Dynasty

Tang dynasty was a prosperous and flourishing period that all kinds of industries were well developed. Eight great characters such as Li Bai, Du Fu, Lu Yu, Wang Wei, Han Yu, Huai Su, Seng Yixing, and Sun Simiao were particularly selected from the fields of poetry, calligraphy, tea ceremony and medication etc. These eight sculptures are made by using vivid and realism carven tact.

Ground Embossment
|
| People in Tang Dynasty appreciated the taste of majesty, glory, and wealthy. There are ten sets of ground embossments at the north square. Each set has four pieces, totally forty pieces. Among these ground embossments, twenty-four pieces are covered with grain of Tang Dynasty; sixteen pieces are covered with Tang calligraphy. The makings of ground embossments derive inspiration from the most representational calligraphy and the most typical grain of Tang dynasty to exhibit the magnificent of Tang culture. |

Sculptures of Poetry and Painting

| The culture in Tang dynasty is open, unconstrained and resplendent. Especially in poetry, calligraphy and painting, the accomplishments almost reach the peak of perfection. The north square selects the poetry painting which possesses the typical Chinese art features as its theme, combining the connotation of Tang culture to create a group of ten pieces waterscape mini-sculptures. |

Center Waterscape and Musical Fountain
|

Center waterscape and musical fountain are located at the axes of north square. The length from south to north is 350 meters and the width from east to west is 52 meters. The waterscape is shaped as T and the widest part is N meters. It consists of a hundred meter waterfall pool, eight stages pool and musical pool. Each of these three parts can performance individually or performance altogether. The musical fountain is very great, splendiferous and glorious. The eight-stage fountain is formed by 1024 nozzles and each nozzle is controlled by individual pumps and transducers.

Musical fountain has 22 kinds of water types, which are the latest high-tech novel products. The big laser water screen, which is sixty-meter wide and twenty-meter high, is peculiarly magnificent. Four sets of fire spring spurt out from the water and blossom out at six-meter high air. Totally, the fountain contains 1360 sets pumps, 1124 sets of transducers, 3300 sets of lampion and more than 2,000 sets of nozzles. Lights under the water, LED belt and the lights around the bank control the lighting system of the fountain. The music is operated by high fidelity and long-range professional audio systems. So the sound, the light, the water and the color of the fountain are harmoniously combined
